Tel-Aide's 200 volunteer listeners come from all walks of life: students and teachers, the employed and retirees alike; they are united in their commitment to helping their fellow man. Tel-Aide is always looking to add to its team. Candidates will receive thorough training in active listening. Upon completion, they will become one of the more than 3,800 people who have worked with Tel-Aide over the past 35 years. To be a volunteer at Tel-Aide is to be a beacon of light in one's own milieu and community.

To join our team of listeners, fill out our online form or contact us by phone at (514) 935-1105 .

You will then be invited to an information session and a face to face interview. Selected candidates will start a 24 hours obligatory training followed by 12 hours of support.

After that, on-going training sessions, workshops and conferences are given for volunteers to ventilate and share their listening experiences with their colleagues as well as learning new skills.

All volunteers are required to commit for a year (120 hours) and are put on schedule according to their own availabilities.
